You can't influence the outcome of, for example, a sporting event in Portugal by shouting at a box in the corner of your living room.

I don't think that it is a voluntary matter. Andrew seems to do it out of habit. I find it useful (unless I am sat next to him trying to read!) as if it is an England amtch I can tell the score without having to look for it.... today not so good. although going off the spacing of the shouts they must have played pretty well up till just before the end. When Andrew shouted f*$£, I knew it was all over. Now he has to try and get up in six hours.. can't see sleep being easy.
